A quilt-inspired cartouche highlights the historic 50th anniversary of the annual Woodlawn Needlework Exhibition surrounded by silk chenille trees. A companion journal accompanies the map for practicing the finely stitched details and fabric painting on a smaller piece.

The beautiful Southern California coastline with a rich mission and Spanish history is the backdrop for this needlework map which explores details found in vintage pen and ink hand-drawn and painted maps: Roman, script, and block lettering, a parchment-like cartouche of the title, stylized motifs of the 21 missions and geographic and historical motifs!
